Mr. Gajanan S. Kale is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited, a Joint Venture between Tata Power and the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, supplying electricity to a population of 7 million in North & North-West Delhi. This is Mr. Kale’s second stint with Tata-Power-DDL.
Mr. Kale is a seasoned professional with over 32 years of experience in the power and energy sector. He has a wealth of expertise in areas such as enhancing customer experience, resource planning and management, operational excellence, big project management, financial management, and advocacy with various stakeholders, including regulators, government bodies, chambers of commerce, and employee unions/associations.
Prior to Tata Power-DDL, Mr. Kale was the Chief Executive Officer of TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL) and has also served as the Chief Executive Officer of TP Ajmer Distribution Ltd (TPADL). Mr Kale’s strategic planning and management took TPWODL to great heights with continuous A+ ranking in “11th and 12th Integrated Rating of Discoms” by the Ministry of Power. These achievements are a testament to his exceptional leadership skills and his ability to drive results.
Mr. Kale was also recognized as the “Best CEO of the Year with HR Orientation” and received the “Best CEO of the Year” award in FY 23-24.
Mr. Kale has had an impressive professional journey that showcases his dedication and expertise. He began his career at BHEL in Bhopal and has since held positions at the Central Railway Nagpur Division among others. He has also been associated with Tata Power Mumbai Distribution and Tata Power-DDL in the past. He pursued an MBA in Finance and also holds an M. Tech in Integrated Power Systems from the National Institute of Technology, Nagpur. He graduated with a B.E. in Electrical Power Systems from Amravati University. He is also an alumnus of the prestigious IIM Ahmedabad.
Mr. Suranjit Mishra is the Chief Financial Officer & Corporate Governance at Tata Power-DDL. Mr. Mishra has been with the Tata Power Company Limited (Tata Power) since October 2009. During this tenure in Tata Power, he has served in various capacities in Finance & Accounts including Financial Controller, Maithon Power; CFO, Powerlinks Transmission Limited, and CFO, Tata Power Trading Company Limited. He is also a Board member of Tata Power Ajmer Distribution Limited.
Mr. Mishra is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He completed his Masters in Business Management from the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi University.
Ms. Kiran Gupta is the Chief - Customer Experience, Commercial & Govt. Affairs at Tata Power-DDL. She spearheads Customer Experience and Commercial function that includes Call Center, Customer Care, New connection, Metering, Billing, Revenue Collection, Recovery & leakage control, Smart Metering, Demand Side Management and New Business Services. Additionally, she works closely with Delhi Government & Regulator to ensure the Organization’s strategic alignment with the regulatory objectives.
Ms. Gupta has an extensive experience of around 3 decades in Power Sector across entire energy value chain in Tata group. She is a veteran in energy utilities and has been Instrumental in driving several transformational changes through Technological interventions like ADMS, BCM, and Demand Side Management across functions along with delivering Value-Added Services to enhance customer experience at Tata Power. She has proven expertise in process transformation driving cultural change and has great passion for Quality and Excellence.
She is the FIRST Woman Executive to lead Operations and successfully handle Commercial driving enforcement for theft reduction in the area. She is the Chairman for the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Committee and member of the Apex Ethics Committee at Tata Power-DDL. She is also the Steering Committee Member at WePOWER - (South Asia Women in Power Sector Network of Partners), a platform floated by World Bank for promoting Gender Inclusivity in the Energy Sector across SAARC nations.
Ms. Gupta also holds Directorships on the Boards of a few group companies of Tata Power such as TPTCL, MCCL, DHPC. She has led Capacity building and knowledge transfer programs for Utilities like BESCOM, NEP, APDCL, UPPLCL, Nigeria in Loss reduction, Customer services and Digitization.
Ms. Gupta is a Qualified Electrical Engineer from Delhi College of Engineering & a Gold Medalist from the Delhi University in 1994. She is Certified for Total Quality Management and Tata Business Excellence Model and has been conferred with Best TBEM Assessor Award. She has done Technology Innovation Program at IIM-Bangalore, 'Leadership Institute Program' by BCG and has recently completed 'Advanced Management Program' from IIM- Ahmedabad.
Praveen AgrawalChief - Human Resource, Industrial Relations, Social Impact Group, Facility Management & Health Services
Mr. Praveen Agrawal is a seasoned Human Resource professional and presently heading the Chief - Human Resource, Industrial Relations, Social Impact Group, Facility Management & Health Services function at Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL).
Mr. Agrawal has been associated with Tata Power-DDL since 2003 and has been instrumental in successfully taking the company through the challenging phase of transformational journey and have contributed towards the entire gamut of HR functioning notably change management post privatization, strategic planning & implementation, systems and processes design and improvement, ERP implementation, employee engagement, performance & career management, talent acquisition, management and retention and seamless communication between the management and the grass root employees.
With a ‘people, process, systems and design thinking’ approach and a belief in empowering the workforce by giving them ample opportunities for their holistic development, Mr. Agrawal is efficiently leading a team of human resources professionals and working with Business Leaders to take the organization forward.

He has also undergone certification program on coaching for performance from IIM-Bangalore, several other SLDP and Strategic HR programs.
Dushyant TyagiChief – Network Services & Stores
Mr. Dushyant Tyagi is currently working as the Chief Network Services & Stores at Tata Power-DDL. Mr. Tyagi spearheads the Network Services & Stores Function that includes Engineering, EHV & Distribution Projects, Material Management, Energy Audit, GIS, and EHV Civil Engineering.
Before his current role, Mr. Tyagi served as the Chief Commercial Services & CSR at Tata Power Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL), and as the Chief Operation Services, which is a notable Public Private Partnership between TATA Power and the Government of Odisha. During his tenure, TPNODL earned acclaims as being one of the best Discoms amongst all four Discoms of Odisha and the AT&C loss levels were reduced by a record 12% in a single year in 2022-23 that too being a rural utility.
Mr. Dushyant Tyagi has had an illustrious career spanning three decades in the Power sector, Mr. Tyagi brings with him expertise across various domains such as Operational and Commercial Management of Discoms, Project Management, Change Management and Policy Advocacy. A problem solver with expertise in Techno Commercial arena, he provides strategic leadership for safe and reliable operations.
He has been instrumental in implementing new technologies and leading the Business Excellence and Process Improvement activities across the TPDDL & TPNODL.
Educationally, Mr. Tyagi is an alumnus of the Delhi College of Engineering and holds a Master's degree from International Management Institute Delhi.
Rajesh BahlChief – Operations & Safety
Mr. Rajesh Bahl spearheads the Operations & Safety (O&S) at Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited. As the Chief of the O&S vertical, his responsibilities include Competency Management, Central Enforcement Activity, Energy Meter/Smart Meter Management, HV/LV Distribution projects implementation, Complete Network Operations & its Maintenance, Energy Audit, safety including new technological innovation and products in implementation of Safety.
In addition, he manages stakeholder expectation with overall objective of corporate governance and driving business results. He is involved in policy advocacy with the Government for drives related to anti-encroachment, loss reduction, space utilization, monitoring of statutory and regulatory compliance of the company in terms of the laid down guidelines.
During his three decade long career in the Power Distribution sector, Mr. Bahl had worked both in India and abroad in varied Commercial, Operation and Technological areas that included Business Process Re-engineering of Commercial Processes, Operations Technology & Safety.
From 1988 - till date, Mr. Bahl has worked with CPWD, L&T and Shri Ram Group in India before joining Power Sector Distribution. He worked in various positions as Asst. Manager, Commercial Manager, District Manager in various districts, Circle Head, Head RRG and Head Safety at Tata Power Delhi Distribution.
Mr. Bahl is an Electrical Engineering graduate, MBA (Operations) and LLB from Delhi University. He also pursued Advanced Leadership Course from IIM- Ahmedabad and Strategic leadership program from Tata Management Training Centre (TMTC) Pune.
HC SharmaChief – Technical Services, Power Management, Power System Control, Quality & Sustainability, Business Development & Collaboration
Mr. H C Sharma heads the function that includes Chief – Technical Services, Power Management, Power System Control, Quality & Sustainability, Business Development & Collaboration.
During his 32 years of career, Mr. Sharma has worked on many prestigious projects and has been instrumental in the development of Plant Engineering and Quality Assurance System at Tata Power-DDL. He has worked in various verticals that include Design, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Procurement and Execution.
He has been a part of many innovative projects like development of 3 Core-66KV cables, Coextruded cables with HDPE pipe protection, distribution box for electric poles for enhancing safety and self-life, daily work schedule unique numbering for utility project manpower and work monitoring, vertical substation, talk back seals, submersible substation, and development of smart meters. A keen planner that Mr. Sharma is, he focuses on bringing down project execution time, achieving resource optimization and smooth commissioning of electrical projects.
He has earlier worked with Engineers India Limited from July 1990 to Sept 2003 and has been associated with Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited for the last 18 years in different roles.
Mr H C Sharma is a B. Tech (Electrical), Gold Medallist from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). He has also pursued Post Graduate Certification in Business Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur.
Mr. Bharat Kumar Bhadawat is heading Contracts, EAC & Consumer Litigation at Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited. Mr. Bhadawat has a work experience of 29 years out of which 17 years in Power Distribution Sector. He headed Finance, Regulatory Affairs, Corporate Legal and Power Management Functions of the Company. From September’2021 to May’2022, he worked as the Chief - Commercial at Tata Power Southern Odisha Distribution Ltd. one of the Group Company and spearheaded the Commercial Functions that includes Metering, Billing, Revenue Collection, Connection Management, Customer Care, Loss Control, Smart Metering, Demand Side Management, Renewable Energy Resources and Regulatory Affairs. Prior to joining Tata Power-DDL, Mr. Bhadawat worked in the Paper and Cement Industries for nearly a decade.
Mr. Bhadawat is an Associate Member of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India and an alumnus of the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University. He has also attended Leadership and Management Development Programmes at IIM – Indore, IIM- Lucknow, IIT- Kanpur and TMTC, Pune.
